Leaf Grasshopper

Taken in the nectarine tree in my back yard. This grasshopper blended in so perfectly that when I took my eyes away from it, I had a difficult time seeing it again. This was my one and only encounter with a leaf grasshopper, these are amazing insects. This camouflage ability has to be one of the most impressive in nature!
They say the way to a woman's heart is diamonds. Not this woman. The way to my heart is a bigger lens! My camera of choice is a Nikon D80 with a Nikor 300 VR lens. I need the VR because my hands shake in the presence of grizzly bear, bald eagles and moose and it's hard to chase animals around with a tri pod.
